Thinking Green!
This week, empty soup and coffee cans were painted with designs from nature, filled with soil and seeds and are now decorating the entrance to our classroom. Mrs. Coles and a group from her Environmental Science class directed the project in honor of Earth Day! Look for Tamarind trees, squash and sunflowers; they should begin to sprout any day!

Additional Information from your teachers...
Some parents have asked for recommended titles for their students to read. In the true spirit of shared teaching, and in preference to spending a long time typing and formatting our own list, we would like to refer you to a web-page from Mrs. Renz's class website. There, you will find a large list of title and authors appropriate for fourth grade reading.
Suggested Reading Titles and Authors
Another page we use from her site is the "No-excuse" spelling list. It is a list of words every fourth grade student should be able to spell correctly-100 percent of the time. We will not be spending time studying these words, but will add them to your student's spelling list for the week if we can tell they have not yet mastered the word.
